For Catholics, the Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship. Whether we are baptized as infants or adults, Baptism is the Church’s way of celebrating and enacting the embrace of God.

​

For Children under 7 years old:

​

Baptismal Preparation Class are held in person. Contact the parish office at (770) 489-7115 to schedule.

 1 class required.

  • English Baptism Class is offered every second Saturday of the month at 9:00am-11:00am

  • Spanish Baptism Class is offered every second Saturday of the month at 4:00pm-6:30pm

   The Class is held in the Conference Room of the Parish Life Center.

Baptismal celebrations (outside of Mass or during Sunday mass as well).

​

  • Spanish Baptisms are held on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 9:00am

  • English Baptisms are held on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 10:00am

There are some paperwork requirements that must be met prior to scheduling a baptism.

 

Parents:

  • Active member of Saint Theresa Catholic Church.

  • A copy of the child’s (or children’s if more than one) birth certificate.

  • If the parent is not a registered member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, a Letter of Good Standing    from their current parish is required.

  • A letter or copy of certificate that states that you have attended Baptismal preparation classes at        St. Theresa or another parish.

  •  Contact the parish office at (770) 489-7115 to schedule a date for the Sacrament of Baptism.

 

God Parents:

  • If the godparent is not a registered member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, a Letter of Good Standing from their current parish is required.

  • A copy of the certificate/letter that you attended a Baptismal Preparation class.

  • A copy of your Marriage certificate, if married.

For Older Children.

​

If the children are 7 years or older, they will go into a Level 1 Religious Education class. They will receive the Sacraments of Baptism at the specified time towards the completion of the first year of PSR class. The child will continue with the Level 2 PSR classes the following year to prepare for the Sacrament of the Eucharist.

 

Parents will have to attend weekly classes during the PSR year as their child goes through the 2-year process.

 

Parents will also need to attend weekly Sunday Mass with their child.
