EXTRAORDINARY MINISTER TO SICK/HOMEBOUND
OIP (6).jfif

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist (EOMs) for the Sick and Homebound take Communion to the sick or dying who are unable to attend Mass to receive the holy Eucharist. They are trained in all aspects of the distribution of Holy Communion. These ministers concentrate their efforts in taking Holy Communion to the homebound or to patients at nursing homes or hospitals. Training consists of an initial 2-4 hour Liturgical Workshop to receive a 3-year certification from the Archdiocese. Ongoing training is required to renew certification.
